The relevance of a comprehensive frame work to aid in the rapid deployment of 3D printing is essential in Africa. The current deployment of 3D printing technology is fragment with limited use case in various strategic sectors.
Currently several Universities in Africa have started offering courses on the use and knowledge around the 3D printing technology for societal good. The use of 3D printing does offer critical and value African based solutions in terms of waste reduction and rapid prototyping of materials. It does also provide an area of opportunity with reuse, reduce and recycling considering the nature of circular economy with an added advantage of skills deployment and retraining.
